On Monday night Bracknell Bees Head Coach announced his squad complete with the final signing being fans favourite James Galazzi. The 34 year old forward will once again wear black and gold this season.
The former Bracknell junior has been a regular with the Bees since 2010/11 but made his senior debut some years earlier. As a Bracknell Hornet James was called up by the Basingstoke Bison and made a single Elite League appearance in 2005/06. The following season he played five times for the Bees in their EPIHL winning season as well as suiting up for the Hornets.
2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/10 were all spent with the Bracknell Hornets before a return to the Bees in 2010/11, a spot where he’s remained ever since. In Bees colours James has appeared 366 times in the EPL returning 55+88 while his no nonsense approach to sticking up for his team saw him rack up 843 points.
Last season James suited up for the Bees in their inaugural NIHL season scoring 10 times plus assisting 6 times while collecting 68 penalty minutes.
Head Coach Doug Sheppard talked of his signing; “There’s a lot to like about James on the ice with his experience and leadership. He’s very reliable in the d-zone and strong in the face-off circle. James certainly has shown over the years he’s not shy when it comes to sticking up for his teammates and will chip in with some gritty goals. It wasn’t a surprise to see the reaction he received Monday night with the way he carries himself off the ice.”
James added his thoughts; “I’m absolutely thrilled to be back for another year. I love being part of this club and can’t wait for the season to start.”
James is 6 foot tall and weighs 212lbs. Announced last James is still available for own and loan for the upcoming season.
