Bees add Elite league experience

Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard announces today that he has added 26 year old Tyler VanKleef to his squad.

The left shooting Canadian born forward, who holds a British passport, comes to the Bees after a spell with Nottingham Panthers and a strong pedigree behind him before coming to the United Kingdom. Tyler was signed to the Nottingham Panthers to cover for injury and since his departure has been skating with the Bees.

He played junior hockey in Canada putting up good numbers for Stoney Creek Warriors and Burlington Cougars before college hockey in the USA where his returns over four seasons were still strong for Curry College.A spell in the SPHL was followed by a season in the East Coast Hockey League before his cover spell with the Nottingham Panthers and subsequent signing here in Bracknell.Doug Sheppard spoke of his new addition; “I’ve been in discussions with Tyler since September and helped arrange him a tryout with Nottingham. Tyler is the impact player we’ve been looking for, he’s a strong skater with a great release. Tyler’s a great character guy in the room and no question he’s going to make us a better team on the ice.”

Tyler Vankleef stands at 6’0 and weighs 181lbs. He shoots left handed. We expect Tyler to make his debut this weekend in our home and away series with the Swindon Wildcats.
