The final weekend before Christmas is a tough weekend for the Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees as they play a home and away series with the Swindon Wildcats.
Tipped by many as the team to beat we’ve had two good games at the Hive so far this season with Swindon and we’ll be looking to repeat that this weekend.
Bees will be bolstered this weekend by the debut of the new signing Tyler VanKleef who, subject to registration, will play in both games this weekend.
The Wildcats are a complete team backed by good goaltending with solid defence and potent offence. Max Birbraer just edges our own Roman Malinik out of top spot in the scoring charts having played two more games than Roman. Coach Aaron Nell cannot be forgotten about either while talking of scoring power.
Bees, spearheaded by leading scorer Roman Malinik will be looking to repeat their win on home ice a few weeks back to send the Bees into Christmas on the back of 4 points in the sack.
Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard explained; “We have a huge weekend with two games against Swindon before we have a week off. I expect a couple of hard fought games. We know Swindon are very tough on home ice and it’s the only rink we haven’t been to this season. I expect a big crowd at home on Sunday with it being a school zone game.”
Face off on Saturday at Swindon is 6.15 with Sunday’s AVSS School Zone game at the Hive being a 6pm face-off. It’s also Teddy Bear Toss night at the Hive so bring your bear and throw it when the Bees score their first goal.
