For the second weekend in a row the Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees are playing a one game weekend but this weekend that game is on home ice at the Hive.
On Sunday night The Bees welcome Streatham back to the Hive. Results last weekend saw the Bees right back in the mix for a high finish as the short-benched Bees put in a remarkable performance to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 6-4 win.
When we last played the London club Alex Roberts had proven himself their leading scorer and he’s not lost that position with a tally of 47 points to his name thanks to 24+23 from 35 games. Next is Adam Carr with 42 points from his 35 games followed by Leigh Jamieson with 40 points.
Damien King and Nathan Gregory look after the goaltending for coach Jeremy Cornish.
The Bees will again be short benched this weekend with suspensions and illness affecting the available squad and Head Coach Doug Sheppard will be forced to look on from the sidelines while Scott Spearing and Adrian Worship will share running the bench with the Bees Head coach available to return next weekend for the double header with Basingstoke.
Speaking of the challenge ahead this weekend Doug Sheppard commented; “We have a lot of depth this season, even with six players missing we still have a chance of beating anyone. We will have to play a smart game and make sure we do a good job managing the puck.”
Bees face Streatham this Sunday at the Hive at 6.00pm
