No doubts about Doughty

Head Coach of the Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees Doug Sheppard continues putting together the pieces of his 2019/20 squad with the latest signing confirmed as Aidan Doughty.

23 year old Aidan Doughty learned his trade in the UK on the Isle Of Wight going on to represent Wightlink Tigers and Wightlink Raiders.

Aidan headed to the USA to further his career and played for Boulder Jr. Bison, a Tier II Junior A ice hockey team based in Superior, Boulder County Colorado scoring 4+5 from 21 starts. From there he moved to Colorado Roughriders and Superior Roughriders of the Western States Hockey League with totalling 34+41 for just 50 PiMs across his three years stateside.

In 2017/18 Aidan returned to the UK and signed on with Streatham putting up 11+10 from 30 games which brought him to the attention of Doug Sheppard. Doug brought him to the Bees last season where he recorded career best figures of 17+19 in 40 regular season games. He added 1+0 in the Cup Semi-final and a further 3+2 across the Bees seven play-off games meaning a total of 42 points from 48 games in 18/19.

On capturing Aidan’s signature again Doug Sheppard said; “I’m pleased we have a player of Aidan’s standing back for our new campaign. He was impressive last season and played with good maturity. I’m looking forward to watching him to cotinue to progress this season.

Aidan Doughty stands 6’2, weighs 182lbs and shoots left handed.
