It’s another weekend of action for the TSI World Bracknell Bees ahead with Saturday night seeing the team playing in Basingstoke against the Bison before a home game on Sunday against Swindon Wildcats.
The Basingstoke Bison sit in third in the league table thanks to a 5 game winning streak backed by backup goaltender Dan Weller-Evans. At the other end of the ice Ashley Tait heads up the points table for the Bison with 22 points returned from 15 games with Michal Klejna just behind on 20 points from 13 games. With Harding, Jones and Norcliffe not far behind in the stats the Bison have a nucleus from which the majority of their scoring comes.
Bison have been without Richard Bordowski for a number of weeks now following injury but recently moved to add Marek Malinsky as cover to the line up meaning they have their full compliment of non EIHA trained players available.
The following evening Bees are on home ice to take on Swindon Wildcats. The Wildcats were deposed from the top spot in the table last weekend by the Telford Tigers. Sunday’s opponents dominate the points scoring table so far with Tomasz Malasinski scoring an impressive 41 points from 18 games. Aaron Nell, who scored the overtime winner for the Wildcats last time out at the Hive, sits second with 35 points from 18 games.
Bees new “import” Dominik Gabaj will be making his debut on Saturday night in Basingstoke with his first home appearance coming on Sunday night at the Hive.
Doug Sheppard looked forward to the weekend saying; “We’ve played much better the last couple of games, with a purpose and a way higher compete level. I thought Newmie played well last weekend and hoping Dominik comes in and makes a difference as well.”
Saturday’s game in Basingstoke is a 6.30pm face-off. Sunday’s game at the Hive is a 5.30pm face-off. Tickets for Sunday’s game can be purchased via 01344 789000.
