It was the home team who scored first at 9.48 with a shorthanded goal from Vladimir Luka but Will Stead soon had things level at 11.20 for a tied first period.

A powerplay goal at 28.12 put the home team back ahead but Caly Robertson equalised at 34.19 before Dominik Gabaj gave the Bees the lead at 35.06.

With all but 1.15 of the final period going by scoreless it was a Lewis Bell strike at 58.45 that forced the game to overtime.

Overtime failed to separate the teams so it went to penalty shots. Graham missed for the Steeldogs and Malinik was saved for the Bees. Luka scored for the Steeldogs while Gabaj missed. Spurr’s penalty shot was saved meaning Josh Smith had to score but when his shot was saved Sheffield took the win.
