The TSI World Bracknell Bees have one final weekend to play in 2019 and it starts on the road with a trip to last Sunday’s opponents, Swindon Wildcats.
Last Sunday a short benched Bees ran out 5-3 winners over the Wildcats thanks to a double from Roman Malinik and goals from Dominik Gabaj, Josh Smith and Ryan Webb and an immense effort in net from Adam Goss.
Worryingly for Swindon in that game Tomasz Malasinki took little part after looking dangerous in the first period. Malasinski is the league’s joint second top point scorer with 50 points from 26 games, tied with Aaron Nell. Edgars Bebris is the third highest point scorer on the Wildcats roster with 34 points from 26 games.
On Sunday night action is back at the Hive as the Leeds Chiefs come to Bracknell. With still no home rink it’s been a tough introduction to hockey for the Chiefs with just 6 wins from their 24 outings so far although two of those have come within their last five games.
With hope of being in their own building early in the New Year the Chiefs will be looking to finish 2019 strongly this Sunday night.
Radek Meidl and James Archer lead the Chiefs in scoring with 28 points from 20 games.
Head Coach Doug Sheppard will be looking to continue the form that saw the Bees defeat the Wildcats last weekend and explained; “I hope everyone had a great Christmas. It’s back to business for the Bees. The atmosphere was tremendous last week, we look forward to another packed noisy Hive this Sunday.”
Saturday’s face-off in Swindon is 6.15pm while Sunday’s face-off is 5.30pm. Tickets for Sunday can be bought on 01344 789000.
