The National Ice Hockey League playoff season – the #NIHLChampionshipSeries – handed out its first trophies last night as Peterborough Phantoms and Hull Pirates lifted their respective NIHL 1 regional playoff titles.
Peterborough saw off Bracknell Bees 13-8 over two legs, with a 7-4 win at the Hive on Saturday followed by a 6-4 home success 24 hours later. Phantoms are now holders of the Autumn Cup, South Cup and South Playoff trophies.
In the North, Hull Pirates added the playoff trophy to their North 1 league success with a 13-9 aggregate win over Sheffield Steeldogs. After a wild 7-7 draw in the first leg, Hull took the win 6-2 on home ice and lifted their second trophy of the campaign.
This coming weekend, the #NIHLFinalFour hits Coventry with over 2,000 tickets sold from fans across the whole of the National League.
Saturday’s action begins with Hull Pirates v Bracknell Bees at 1.30pm followed by Peterborough Phantoms v Sheffield Steeldogs at 5.30pm.

On Sunday the first game at 1pm is the NIHL Divison 2 National Championship between Slough Jets and Widnes Wild, followed at 5pm by the Grand Final.
The #NIHLChampionshipSeries doesn’t end there – over the weekend of April 20/21 the NIHL2 finals take place at Widnes and Bracknell. Tickets are still available for those weekends – details on www.eiha.co.uk/tickets – and we will have more information on the NIHL2 later in the week.
