The TSI World Bracknell Bees had a chance to renew a recent rivalry on the road on Saturday before catching up with a former opponent for the first time in a couple of seasons on Sunday.

The Bees opened a two goal lead thanks to Josh Ealey-Newman at 7.46 and Harvey Stead at 15.45 beating Jordan Marr before Tom Norton scored at 16.16 to reduce the home team’s deficit to a single goal.
The second period again saw the Bees scored two before the Phantoms could fight back. This time Zack Milton scored at 29.41 and Roman Malinik found the back of the net at 37.51 but Corey McEwen scored with 26 seconds left in the period to make it 2-4 after 40 minutes.
Dominik Gabaj scored twice within 2.05 to put the game safe at the back end of the final period. His first came at even strength at 55.42 and his second found the back of an empty net at 57.47 to conclude the scoring.

On Sunday night the TSI World Bracknell Bees returned home to face the Sheffield Steeldogs.

It was the visitors who would open the scoring thanks to a delayed penalty goal from Alex Graham at 6.16 but at 10.39 Dominik Gabaj had the scores level. At 12.42 Greg Wood put the visitors back ahead and the scores would remain at 1-2 at the end of the period.
A hard fought second period looked to be closing out with no scoring until Harvey Stead blasted in the game’s equaliser at 39.23.
An inspired spell saw Gabaj net his second of the night at 40.34 followed by Brendan Baird scored the Bees fourth at 42.30 on a delayed penalty opportunity. Vladimir Lukas kept the game alive with a powerplay goal for Sheffield at 52.46 and the Hive descended to near silence when Craig Elliot levelled the game.
Overtime was called on to separate the teams and it would start 3 on 3 before a brief Bees powerplay. It was back at full strength that Elliot netted for the second time in the night to force the win.
